I LOVE Pinterest | Friday Fun
Y’all know that I always love to be on top of the newest fun websites and if you haven’t heard of Pinterest yet… well, you’re in for a huge treat. And it’s just perfect for today’s Friday Fun post!
What is Pinterest?
Pinterest lets you organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web. People use pinboards to plan their weddings, decorate their homes, and organize their favorite recipes.
Best of all, you can browse pinboards created by other people. Browsing pinboards is a fun way to discover new things and get inspiration from people who share your interests.
Their Mission
Our goal is to connect everyone in the world through the ‘things’ they find interesting. We think that a favorite book, toy, or recipe can reveal a common link between two people. With millions of new pins added every week, Pinterest is connecting people all over the world based on shared tastes and interests.
Confession
I’ll admit, I am kind of addicted… and by kind of I mean I really, really love this site. This website has really filled a void for me in my online browsing world. I love to read and follow all different kind of blogs, but inevitably whenever I would try to remember a craft, a design idea or something that I wanted the photo of, I couldn’t remember where I had first seen it.
ENTER PINTEREST.
Now, I not only get to keep track of my fun ideas, inspirations and dreams for the future, I get to follow my friends’ boards too. It’s like one giant, beautiful pinning party.
Ways I use Pinterest…
Keep track of Photo Display inspirations I love and eventually want to replicate in our house or my studio:
I also keep track of Photo Projects that I will tackle one day like this amazing Photo Wall from Freshhomeideas.com, this photo collage letter – perfect for a wedding gift!- from somewhatsimple.com or this photo transfer lamp shade also from freshhomeideas.com.
Those are just two of the photography-related boards that I have on Pinterest but you can
by clicking that button!
But first… If you’re not on Pinterest and you want to be invited, use the Contact Me form and send me your email address that you want your invitation sent to, and I’ll send one your way!
Pinning Etiquette 101!
- Be nice! It’s a really fun, inspirational community so let’s keep it that way!
- CREDIT your sources! Photographers, blogs, writers should be credited like “photo by” or “found via decor8.com”
I love this graphic by Rosies Creations and yes, go on… CURATE THE INTERNET!

Stephanie’s Family | Franklin TN Family Portraits
I was really excited when my good friend Stephanie asked me to do portraits of her family while they were in town a while back! We photographed her fun family in Franklin at my new favorite location and I was so delighted how they turned out! The lighting was absolutely perfect… probably because I asked them to get up at the crack of dawn on a Saturday!
Enjoy!

Photographers Redefined Forum | Friday Fun!
Why hello fun friends! It’s Friday and so that means I’m posting something fun for you!
For me, one of the most important aspects of growing my photography business has come from finding a solid group of other photographers who you can talk to, bounce ideas and questions off of, and just have a general understanding and commraderie about your profession. It’s definitely so refreshing to hear stories and be able to say, “YES! That has happened to me too!” or have someone else say, “Well, the way I would have handled that situation would have been…” The wisdom of other photographers more experienced than I is absolutely invaluable to me.Up until a few months ago, that community revolved around monthly meetings like FastTrack Photographer Nashville, PUG or SMUG.
THEN Photographers Redefined was born. What is it? you ask. Well, it’s an incredible forum of photographers who all have the same basic goal: wanting each other to succeed. I know that there are lots of different photography forums out there, but this is the first one I’ve ever joined… and boy is it addicting!
Some of my favorite topics that are discussed include an entire section dedicated to Film Photography, because that intrigues me and I want to get back into film again. There are also topics on pricing, packaging, and my personal favorite one called share your successes where we all get to give ourselves a pat on the back for a cool thing or a great moment in your business! Too often I find that this business is lonely and celebrating with other photographers just makes it a whole lot better!
So what are you waiting for?? Photographers nationwide are signing up for and jumping into this incredible resource, filled with some of the photographers I most admire! But be warned, you might stay up late reading over all the topics already on there… don’t say I didn’t warn you!
A huge thanks to the creators of this forum: Phil and Mindy Thornton of Phindy Studios and Sean and Mel McLellan of McLellan style. They have put in countless hours to make the best forum possible for us. Thanks guys!!
