Starting a Business Is a Journey!
I love this photo. All the trees and their branches are so unique and beautiful. This beautiful scene from the countryside of England reminds me that I’m on a journey.
Reflecting back on January helps me remember that my business is always in process, it’s always going to be a journey. The launching of my new website was definitely exciting and I have some fun things in the works: new products, all new marketing brochures and specials and more fun blog posts coming soon!
So stay tuned to Kristen Steele Photography and keep checking back!
Mr. & Mrs. Weddings and Events | Styled Shoot at CJ’s Off the Square
Jennifer Hamilton with Mr. & Mrs. Weddings and Events definitely outdid herself for this shoot! This gorgeous French-inspired styled shoot features a beautiful blush-pink, ivory, black and metallic color palette, amazing flowers from Village of Flowers as well as a Blushing Bride in an amazing dress from The Bride Room.
CJ’s Off the Square is such a dream of a wedding venue and it’s tucked right in downtown Franklin. Things I love about CJ’s: the pretty italian string lights that, as you can see, even look amazing during the day! I also adore the gazebo and the white drapes on the patio.
I hope you enjoy this photoshoot, Jennifer and I had fun with it!

Love these details from a wedding I attended this past summer! The Bride used antique canning jars that her great-grandfather had used.
Part I: You’re Engaged! Now What!?
Congratulations on your engagement! Whether you just got engaged over the holidays or are blazing through your wedding planning process, one of the most important decisions you’ll make for your wedding preparations is who you choose to be your wedding photographer. And with so many talented photographers out there, how do you choose? I think it boils down to several factors…
Consistency in their work.
Websites are great online brochures for photographers since we get to display our images for the world to see, but be sure that you ask to see an entire wedding from start to finish. Make sure that there aren’t just one or two great shots that they show on the website, but that they demonstrate great work regardless of the lighting conditions.
Sample Albums.
A great way to see a whole wedding from start to finish is looking through a photographer’s Sample Albums! Be sure to ask to see these, especially since your album will become your first family heirloom. Make sure that the quality and offerings are up to par with your expectations.
Experience.
Ask your photographer how many weddings they have been the “primary shooter” for. That’s photography speak for how many weddings they were specifically hired to photograph. Also ask if they have any other relevant experience in the wedding industry.
But the two factors that I believe are the most important when choosing your Wedding Photographer: their Style and their Personality. More on these two VERY important factors in Part II of this blog post!
I would love to meet with you about your Wedding Photography to show you my sample albums so you can see my work and to tell you more about my experience as a Wedding Photographer and also working as high-end wedding planner. With experience in both fields, I make sure your wedding day runs smoothly and that you’ll have photographs to treasure for lifetime!

Nashville Engagement Photography | Alicon + Matthew
I just LOVE engagement sessions. The love is palpable. All I have to do is just say, “You’re getting MARRIED!!” and the couple just lights up. Alicon + Matthew were no different. They are obviously so suited for each other. I had so much fun photographing them!
So, remember that talented Web Desiger named Matthew from Primarily Rye that I was telling you about last week? Well I got the pleasure of photographing him and his sweet Bride Alicon all over downtown Nashville. We documented all of their fun memories: where they met, where they had their first date, etc. I hope you enjoy their Nashville Engagement Session photos!
I think they look like movie stars in that last photo, don’t you think?? Can’t wait for your wedding in a MONTH Matt + Alicon!
