we live in a twitter world: CJ's off the Square
Up to this point I’ve been using my blog to post photos from sessions, but I want to expand and start explaining some of my business strategy, wedding vendors I have been meeting with, and share more of my personal stuff with y’all! It always ends up that my personal photos don’t get touched because I am editing other people’s photos!
You might not know this about me: I LOVE twitter. {You can follow me @KSteelePhoto!} I already loved it before this week when I discovered Tweetdeck but now I love it even more. Twitter allows me to follow the conversations of photographers I admire, stay atuned to the latest trends in the industry and find out about fabulous local activities… like the open house I went to last week at CJ’s off the Square.
I had never been there before, but was so amazed by how Amy and CJ had transformed a little house in Franklin into an amazing events venue! There was a pond (complete with fish!) with a gorgeous little waterfall, a stone path with a gorgeous gate, a gazebo for ceremonies, the house had so many awesome little rooms – it was just awesome!
The funniest part of the whole night was when I saw a group of people standing all looking at their phones. I heard someone mention twitter and I knew I was in the right place. I went up and introduced myself and Emily said, “Oh!! YOU’RE KSteelePhoto! I’m 1weddingwoman! and that’s TNBellaWeddings!” I laughed and then we hugged. There was a group of people who had been tweeting that day, all wanting to actually meet face to face so it all happened at the fabulous Open House.
So from a business perspective, twitter has been an amazing and efficient way for me to meet other local wedding vendors and then once we finally meet, the business relationship is born! I plan on featuring more about the vendors I am meeting with, so stay tuned!
In the meantime, a photographer I admire named Jamie Delaine recently posted a blog about this very topic and it might be interesting to you: http://jamiedelaineblog.com/index.php/post/491/Youre-Not-Too-Busy
